RDK and the All Rounder Program - Northern Territory

RDK co-founder, Warren, and Community First Development volunteer, Carmen, met to talk business and community

Warren kindly showing us around his homeland.

RDK is a First Nations’ organisation founded in 2023 by brothers Warren and Allen.

RDK is best known in the community for the All Rounder program which is about empowering First Nations’ youth in the Central Desert. The program has become an important and culturally-sensitive way of offering real-life outcomes and opportunities for those doing it tough.

When RDK approached us to assist in bringing their vision to life, Warren and Allen began working with Senior Community Development Officer, Alex, and volunteer, Carmen, who has extensive experience in business management and community development. Together, they developed a business plan, mapped out their services, forecast cash flow, and worked on funding applications.

In honour of their family’s legacy, ‘RDK’ represents their grandfather Roy, their uncle Dean, and their father Dennis - Arrernte leader Uchalka/ Irrapmwe, known amongst their mob as ‘King Charlies.’

Carrying on the strength and resilience of their ancestors, Warren and Allen place a heavy focus on cultural connection, skill development, and personal growth through bush tucker, storytelling, and painting.

Now, RDK is looking to secure funding to build facilities, including bathrooms and a camp kitchen, to support their work. The next steps involve architectural planning and securing all the approvals they’ll need to kick off construction.

I just can’t believe how far I’ve come since meeting you Alex and Community First Development. I’m so far ahead with my business dreams now!
