Our Impact

It is fundamental to Community First Development that we listen to the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities – to put their voices and their leadership first.

Our Reflection (monitoring and evaluation) Framework has been designed to demonstrate impact at both the micro and macro levels. At the micro level, we co-design, monitor and evaluate all projects with communities using a culturally safe participatory approach. Communities tell us what success looks like in the short- and long-term. We then work closely with each community to track progress towards these goals and identify any impact that has occurred through working together.  

Monitoring and evaluation data is hosted in our sophisticated cloud database called D4. D4 is the scaffolding that underpins our community development program, supporting us to understand and demonstrate impact at a macro level. As an innovation- and learning-focused organisation, our impact approach is not static but one that is constantly evolving.
