National Volunteer Week - The Change Makers
During National Volunteer Week we are taking time out to acknowledge our skilled and diverse volunteers, who work with self-determining First Nations’ communities across the country. The Change Makers is this year’s National Volunteer Week theme, and our volunteers are certainly an important element in a three-way relationship with First Nations’ community partners and our Community Development Officers.
As a First Nations’ led community development organisation, our purpose is to see First Nations’ communities thriving. Through engaging with skilled volunteers and building relationships based on community self-determination we support community partners to implement their own solutions.
As Binar Futures Finance and Administration Manager Erika Songerwala explains, volunteers that are culturally responsive create spaces for communities to grow their vision and Dreams.
National Volunteer Week provides us with an opportunity to give a shout out to our skilled volunteers who, like Louise, take the time to build and maintain relationships with self-determining communities.
HUGE THANKS TO OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS!
