Our WA volunteers recognised!
We were invited to attend Kiwanis’ Volunteer Day where our Regional Manager, Doyen Radcliffe, did the Acknowledgement of Country and two of our volunteers were recognised for their skilled and dedicated work with Community First Development.
Kiwanis are a global charitable foundation of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. The foundation assists by providing grant funding for project initiatives and programs focussed on improving community health and wellbeing for children and those experiencing socio-disadvantage with the aim for improved life outcomes.
It was a great opportunity to hear from other organisations and community providers and hear about what is happening, what is being provided, what is working and what is needed. There were many positive stories shared.
Volunteers from various organisations were presented with Certificates of Appreciation and given the opportunity to express the reasoning behind why they do what they do – why they love volunteering!
We were all treated to a beautiful morning tea with a stunning view of the Derbal Yerrigan.
Community First Development’s very own volunteers Ailsa and Dulith (aka Woody) were both recognised. We’re so grateful for our volunteers – thank you for all you do!
